A 75-year-old man died from gunshot wounds on Thursday night after being shot while dropping off his granddaughter at a school on Toronto’s west side, and police have since identified him as Joseph Loparco, the city’s 73rd homicide victim of the year.
The Toronto Star reported that the suspect fled the scene on foot and was wearing a black jacket and jeans. The victim was found about 8:15 p.m. by police at North Shore Academy, whose students are mostly students of North Shore Public School.
