The activist group canceled its side event Saturday, which was slated to have a “unified” voice in opposition to President Trump’s immigration orders. In a video on its Facebook page , the United Farm Workers said there were “no more” supporters of the president at Saturday’s reception after the rally, which was scheduled in cooperation with the Inter-American Bar Association to represent the Latino rights group. Several of the attendees are not from the farm industry, the union said. When asked what attendees were told to expect, a news spokeswoman referred back to the IGAM Facebook page, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Additionally, El Pueblo Libre in Phoenix posted on its Facebook page: “There were no more farm workers participating at the Farmworker Breakfast last night for our shared purpose. The ‘UFW = Friendship’ side was unified with the (Teamsters) side with the goal of speaking out against Mr. Trump’s immigration executive orders. We (the IBA) were unified as well. Both groups were ready to work together, but that did not happen. We just did not get the organization for unity to succeed.”
