Baldwin reportedly stopped into “Rust & Bone” in Hamilton, Vermont, on Saturday night while traveling across the country with his wife, according to VTDigger.
The rustic state dining experience has been seen as a symbol of Burlington, Vermont’s typically upscale vibe despite its rough surroundings and rough-around-the-edges reputation, the website reported.
The article said “Rust & Bone” is owned by Elliott Walker, whose partner, Kate, is the daughter of Alec Baldwin.
“Rust & Bone” has been the subject of investigations in recent days by the state’s attorney general and the Vermont Liquor Control Commission.
The AG wants to see whether the bar (which does not have liquor licenses) has been selling beer and liquor to people who aren’t allowed to drink in bars or restaurants. “Rust & Bone” is classified as an “unauthorized establishment” in Vermont.
But the WSDP reports that the liquor commission has turned down requests to revoke the tavern’s liquor license.
The second issue concerns the website that advertise “Rust & Bone” as a restaurant and allegedly collected a $25 service fee for people who signed up on an after-dark reception page.
The website has since been taken down and the fee refunded, but users were hit with an alert message saying “All your transaction history, receipts, and payment information have been removed in compliance with federal law. Sorry about that”.
Neither the attorney general’s office nor the liquor commission provided a reason for their investigations. A spokesperson for the attorney general said the AG office isn’t commenting on the status of any investigation.
In lieu of information, a spokesperson for the liquor commission deferred all comment to law enforcement.
The presence of a massage therapist near the bar on Saturday night has also raised suspicion.

In an interview with VTDigger, Hilaria Baldwin said she was surprised to see that the bar was closed.
“It’s this really quaint establishment but everybody knows that it’s a sex club,” she said. “I felt weird walking into this big restaurant. You can’t even go in to eat. You walk in, there are bars, couches, etc … It’s like this but closed to the public. And then a massage parlor! It was a little creepy.”
According to its website, “Rust & Bone” opened in early 2016. According to its Facebook page, it has events planned, including tarot readings and witch-hunting.
But the place has a reputation for more than just physical activity. Over the years, customers have been called out for the alleged authenticity of its in-house psychic readings, according to documents from the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission.
